Five Guys Walk into a Bar
.
One of the most overlooked bands as always been The Faces with Ron Wood, Rod Stewart, Ian Maclagen, Ronnie Lane, and Kenny Jones but hopefully that will change slightly with the release of the new Faces box set. If a boozy good time is what you are after, then this is the band for you. In their day, 1969-1975, the Faces had a rabid cult following largely based on their live shows which were certainly alcohol-fueled, free-for-alls, but transferring such mayhem onto vinyl proved elusive. As such, any given Faces album had its moments, with A Wink's as Good as a Nod...probably the most successful overall. Still, this new box set should be the thing to have for you discerning collectors, so go get one and toss back a few for the boys. For some great info, pictures, all that rubbish, probably the best Faces site is:http://www.the-faces.com/. Now, go get drunk!
